Can you can catch a Leprechaun? Team Clover 4-H Club is going to give it a try on St. Patrick's Day are you going to try too? See how we combined wood working, STEM engineering and gardening to celebrate the fun holiday tradition.
Sticking with our "Bug" themed year we did some simple wood working to make Bug Houses that we used as a trap for the Leprechauns. Don't worry we can still use them for studying bugs after we release our leprechauns.
Using a variety of materials (string, sticks, rope, paper, straws, etc) members all had to come up with their own working trap design to lock in their Leprechauns once they enter. They used a lot of logic and did some pretty great engineering on these traps. I'm sure their leprechauns will not escape the amazing traps.
To help entice the mischievous little leprechauns we made Leprechaun Gardens. What's a Leprechaun Garden you ask? Its sort of like a fairy garden but since we didn't want to catch a fairy so we used lots of gold, green things and all the things a mischievous little leprechaun could not resist. We completed our decorative little gardens with great little plants too.
The end result are traps that no leprechaun could resist, don't you agree. The uniqueness of each trap and the way it is tailored to each of the members personalities are just the best. We could not have asked for better results, I mean just look at these amazing traps.
